About the Business

Corios is a Portland-based analytics consulting firm that helps large financial institutions make smarter, data-driven decisions. Their clients include household names in banking, utilities, and credit services — and they’re known for blending deep technical expertise with real-world business outcomes.

Corios President Robin Way was already an accomplished thought leader – having published a number of whitepapers (or in this case, redpapers) and spoken at many industry events.

For years, he had dreamed of writing a book — something that would distill his decades of expertise into a clear, actionable framework for using analytics to drive business performance. The goal wasn’t just to explain what Corios does, but to establish Robin as a thought leader in a field where data alone doesn’t always move the needle.

Together, we worked to make that dream a reality.

EXECUTIVE THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

I partnered closely with Robin to translate his voice, experience, and methodology into a structured manuscript — shaping everything from the chapter flow to the central metaphor. Over the course of many months, I turned his vision into a full-length manuscript: researching, outlining, and ghostwriting what would become Skate Where The Puck’s Headed: A Playbook for Scoring Big with Predictive Analytics.

Inspired by the famous Wayne Gretzky quote, the phrase became a guiding theme for the book’s tone, structure, and visual language. Each chapter used real-world stories and data-driven strategies to make complex concepts approachable, compelling, and — most of all — useful.

We leveraged existing content, connective tissue, and brand new analytical concepts. A deep, structured dive into how analytics can transform enterprise sales, it blends case studies, methodologies, and personal experience into a cohesive, readable framework. I helped ensure the tone stayed true to the Robin’s voice while making the content accessible to a broader business audience.

BOOK GHOSTWRITING

Once the manuscript was complete, I helped support the rollout strategy: a lead-gen landing page, supporting email and social campaigns, and a coordinated author speaking tour that included industry events and client presentations. I also collaborated with the design team to bring the final book to life — from layout and cover design to production and distribution on Amazon.

In order to create a remarkable visual experience, we even coordinated a photoshoot with a local hockey star wearing a custom Corios jersey for the book cover and all photography assets.

BOOK LAUNCH, AUTHOR SPEAKING TOUR, & CAMPAIGN STRATEGY

Skate became a powerful sales and recruiting tool — showing prospective clients and team members exactly how Corios thinks. And while the book was published under Robin’s name (as ghostwritten books always are), I’m honored to be thanked in the acknowledgements — and proud to have helped bring it to life.

The book has been enormously well-received by the analytics community, hundreds of people have downloaded and read it, and Corios President Robin Way has been sought out for several additional speaking engagements as a result.

“If you want practice-based insights on the use of these powerful business tools, you need look no further.”
